The 2021 GP doesn't just look commanding - our new 220kW/301 hp 4-cylinder engine with MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology under the bonnet sets a new benchmark in the small car segment.
The third generation MINI JCW hardtop to wear the GP badge is an expression of pure racing passion that John Cooper would be proud of. In keeping with a nod to our prestigious Monte Carlo win while updated for 2021, its sleek and uncompromising design is a testament to the legends that came before.
A menacing hood scoop and a low and ferociously poised front end were designed to look just at home on and off the track. Add precisely molded air deflectors with wide open air intakes, large light alloy wheels, and a distinctive rear apron with central twin tail pipes—and its weight-optimized construction redefines what it means to be aerodynamically crafted.

The paddle shifters, steering wheel 12 o'clock marker, and passenger side trim piece bearing the vehicle's production number are all produced by innovative 3D printing process.
Unique Aerodynamics:
The roof spoiler features a reversed wing profile, which generates maximum downforce with the lowest possible aerodynamic drag in order to press the vehicle onto the road at high speeds.
Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Plastic (CFRP):
The striking wheel arch panels are made of lightweight and innovative carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP), which utilizes material recycled from the BMW i3 and i8 production.
Lightweight Forged Wheels:
Fitted as standard are 18-inch lightweight forged wheels which weigh less than nine kilograms. They are wrapped in high-performance tires specially developed for this vehicle.
MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology:
The 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine features the latest generation of MINI TwinPower Turbo technology as well as numerous modifications that set it apart from a standard MINI John Cooper Works engine.
